| 11月18日、午前中の通常授業の後、ラスベガス学園 児童・生徒20名（希望者）が「実用数学技能検定」を受検しました。ラスベガス学園の普通部（C1-C9 日本の小学1年ー中学3年に相当）では、「国語」に加え「算数・数学」の授業を開講しています。日本の文部科学省から支給される教科書を使用し学んでいます。普段は現地校で、全て英語で学んでいる児童・生徒たちです。国際部の生徒も受検しましたが、こちらは「算数・数学」の授業はありませんから、日本語での問題を読むことも新鮮な経験だったことでしょう。
午後からの試験の前に、受検者たちはカフェテリアでランチを楽しそうに食べていました。普段は、午前中の授業で終わりなので、カフェテリアでクラスメートと一緒にいただくランチも、楽しい思い出の一つになったことでしょう。 |
On November 18, after regular morning classes, 20 Las Vegas Gakuen (LVG) students took the Practical Mathematics Proficiency Test (Japan Mathematics Certification Foundation). In addition to Japanese language classes, Las Vegas Gakuen offers math classes in its regular courses (C1-C9, which correspond to grades 1 through 9 in Japan), using textbooks provided by the Japanese Ministry of Education.
The LVG International Division students also took the test, but since they do not have math classes at LVG, reading the questions in Japanese must have been a new and challenging experience for them. Before the afternoon exam, students enjoyed lunch in the cafeteria. Usually, classes end in the morning, so having lunch with classmates in the cafeteria must have been a pleasant time for them. |
